Wayne McLean (Class Of 1974)

 It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Wayne Albert Mclean on June 1, 2010. After many years of diabetic complications, his Heavenly Father has called him home for ultimate healing. He leaves to mourn his loving wife Lisa and their 14 year-old son Adam. Wayne is also survived by his parents, Albert and Mary McLean of Brandon; sister and brother-in-law Marlene and Don Jury (Stephanie, Michael) of Minnedosa; sister and brother-in-law Donna and Al Keffen (Darien, Brynn) of Innisfail, AB; his in-laws, Peter and Anne Penner of Winnipeg; Gerri and Jack Kirby (Nathan, Sara, Katie) of Winnipeg and Richard and Debbie Penner (Joshua, Riley, Tyler) of Altona; Agatha Dueck of Altona and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Wayne was born in Minnedosa and was raised on the family farm near Rapid City, MB. He graduated from Elton Collegiate in 1974 and Herzing College in 1998. His various employers included KMart in Brandon; Valley Royal Travel in Minnedosa, CAA Travel in Brandon and Convergys in Winnipeg. Wayne was a quiet, gentle man who above all, loved to laugh. His hobbies included golfing, 5-pin bowling and watching the Brandon Wheat Kings, the Montreal Canadians and the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. Thank you to the medical teams at the Health Sciences Centre and the St. Boniface Hospital for your expertise and care over the years. Thanks to the Home Care workers for aiding Wayne at home. Lastly, thanks to our many, many family members and friends for your support. Interment will take place on Monday, June 7, 2010 at Chapel Lawn, 4000 Portage Avenue at 1:00 p.m. with viewing one half hour prior. A Celebration of Life will begin at 2:00 p.m. at Westwood Community Church, 40l Westwood Dr. Donations in memory of Wayne may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association 200-310 Broadway, Winnipeg, MB R3C 0S6 or The Kidney Foundation, Manitoba Branch, Unit 1- 452 Dovercourt Dr., Winnipeg, MB R3Y 1G4.
